2018 fixtures

With the 2018 season looming large on the horizon, the next chapter of the Berwick Bandits' long history gets under way with the traditional Tweed/Tyne Trophy with the first leg at Shielfield Park on Saturday March 31st at the usual 7.00pm, followed with a 6.30pm second leg at Brough Park as the Bandits try to wrestle the trophy back from the Newcastle Diamonds who won the silverware last year, not least because of a blistering draw in last years' first leg.

HAPPY 2018

All at Berwick Speedway would like to wish all their supporters a Happy New Year.... Roll on Spring and The 2018 season!

Fighting-Fit Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen bounces back for Berwick 2018

Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen’s Berwick Bandits debut dramatically ended in pain and tears in 2017, crashing out heavily in that very first match, but his all-action, Devil-may-care attitude was what the Shielfield Park fans wanted to see and that's exactly why the  forward-thinking Bandits management team have made the move to bring the exciting Dane back to the Borders for the 2018 season.

2017 Bandit of the Year makes it four for 2018

The management of the Berwick Bandits have officially announced the return of their 2017 rider and fans-voted rider of the year with eager delight as full Berwick Bandits' club asset Jye Etheridge became the fourth rider to sign up for the 2018 season, starting in Spring.

Australian Etheridge was one of the most significant SGB Championship improvers in recent memory and established himself as a threat to anyone in the League on any track as his calculated match average rocketed skywards by an incredible 3.86 points from 1.20 in 2016 to 5.06 in 2017.

David "The Phoenix" Howe makes it three Bandits for 2018

The Berwick Bandits' management have continued their week of construction for the 2018 season, starting in March next year, by adding a third Bandit to the register, and it's a name sure to delight everyone connected to Berwick with Leicester-born David Howe putting pen to paper over the weekend.

Bandits bring back Captain Doolan

Hot on the heels of the Berwick Bandits' first signing for 2018, Aaron Summers came a special birthday gift for their 2017 skipper, Kevin Doolan, as he was revealed as the second signing for next season's SGB Championship campaign, which gets under way in March next year.

Berwick Speedway Reveal First Bandit For 2018

As the polar blast bears down on North Northumberland, the management of the Berwick Bandits are enjoying an early Summer as they welcome Aaron "Spud" Summers to the club as their first SGB Championship signing for the 2018 season.

Bandits future looking good after AGM concludes

Berwick's Scott Courtney has reported back from the sport's AGM full of enthusiasm and positivity with a bright future ahead for the sport in the UK.

Courtney said: "it was a very productive few days work, hard work, but extremely positive as the sport has come together to make sure our future is on the up. The measures brought in are only to the good and we cannot wait to get team building underway at Berwick for what is sure to be a top class 2018!"

The full official BSPA AGM Statement now follows:

Congratulations Bandit of the year - twice - Jye Etheridge

At a hugely successful and well attended End of Season Dance at Marshall Meadows on Saturday night it was young Jye Etheridge who was celebrating long into the night - and with good reason.

Jye received not one, but two Rider of the Year trophies, the first as voted for by his fellow Bandits' riders and the second by a vote from the Bandits' fans themselves.
