Lewis Bridger became a hero to his new-found Berwick fans on Sunday at Brough Park in the second leg of the 2017 Tyne Tweed Trophy, taking 12 points, including two amazing victories, his first in Heat Five - albeit awarded - when he was well out in front of Lewis Rose and Ludvig Lindgren, but Dany Gappmaier hit the shale off bend four having gone too wide and was duly excluded, but better was to come for the new number one.

Tyne-Tweed Trophy tied 45-45 after brilliant 1st leg setting up a knife-edge finish tonight.

Last night's opening team match at Shielfield Park, which saw the Olympus Marquees Berwick Bandits (Powered by Mike Hope, Wooler) haul back a hard ridden draw with the Newcastle Diamonds is a superbly exciting match.

Testimonial Man, and club captain, Kevin Doolan's trip to the Capital was a massive success at the MCN Show, and he too takes up the story in his own words.

"Well that was a BIG weekend racing with some BIG names of motorcycling down at the MCN motorcycle show in London. When all-round motorcycle legend and former speedway rider Peter Boast invited me to be part of his "SLIDE" show racing against legends like John Mc Guinness,  Troy Corser, Neil Hodgeson, Billy McConnell, and Chris Walker I didn't need to think twice.
