Bandits @ Scorpions. Friday - Welcome back Nikolaj
The Berwick "Mike Hope of Wooler Ltd." Bandits (Powered by Clear Energy Consulting) travel to the Scunthorpe Scorpions tonight with one mission in mind, to bounce back and lift themselves off the bottom of the current Championship league table, potentially by three or four places, but that is going to be a tough ask.
"The Scorpions have been busy replacing riders of late," said Berwick's team boss Gary Flint, "With an injury to Jason Garrity hey have drafted in a former Bandit, and England International who started his 2019 with Redcar, and that's the always dynamic Ben Barker who will make our life seriously tricky tonight. They also boast the strength of Josh Auty and one guy who nearly made it as a Bandits a number of seasons ago, Australian Jake Allen, and he can really turn on the style when he wants to.
"They've also signed up former Newcastle man Simon Lambert, so it's a new-look Scunthorpe we have to contend with tonight and while they went down 55-35 at Somerset last week, they will be a different side tonight, but at least we have Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen back after his illness lay-off to get us back to full strength, and we need to get points onto the table as we've only ridden one of 10 home league matches so far, and this is our fourth on the road which has effectively given us a false league position, but a win tonight would certainly help."
