Berwick came off second-best in this cup final dress rehearsal, veteran Scott Nicholls scoring an 18 point maximum for the home side.
Stand-in skipper Peter Kildemand’s evening lasted just two rides before crashing out of the evening with a hand injury. With Jye Etheridge and Nick Morris already missing and guest Michael Palm Toft ineffective it was a case of damage limitation.
Victor Palovaara led the way with two of Berwick’s three heat winners, Jordan Jenkins adding a third, while Reid Battye found himself on the deck three times but got up to score a steady six points on his first visit to the unique Devon circuit.
