Berwick Bandits

Cab Direct Championship
Having led the meeting for 11 of the opening 12 heats Berwick failed to get across the finishing line and claim their first away points of the campaign.
In the end Jason Edwards orchestrated a last heat 4-2 to steer the Bears – who didn’t lead until after heat 14 – home despite the efforts of Peter Kildemand, Jye Etheridge and Reid Batye in particular.
Despite only having five heat winners the Bandits managed three early 5-1s, forcing the homes side into using skipper Charles Wright as a tactical sub as early as heat seven.
Wright was excluded from a twice rerun heat 15 for tape touching but Edwards, very fortunate not to be excluded after falling in the second running, got up to become the home hero.
