Archie Freeman’s injury left the Bullets looking for a suitable replacement … and who better than one of the team’s founder-members?

Having made his debut for Belle Vue in 2018, Ben became a Colts’ regular the following season before switching to Berwick post-pandemic. Despite two steady seasons of progress he found himself on the sidelines at the start of the season but ready to grab his opportunity with plenty of training laps around the country.

So when Berwick made the call and offered a 28-day contract to replace the unfortunate Geordie teenager he was happy to say yes.
