Berwick conceded 5-1s in each of the last three heats to give a somewhat lopsided look to the final score.
League leaders Oxford, led by a paid maximum for Sam Masters, ended strongly but it was especially harsh on Rory Schlein and Thomas Jorgensen who kept the Cheetahs on their toes and the scores to within four points for much of the meeting until that final flurry.
Again Berwick’s middle order failed to score the points to back up their big guns while Lewis Kerr and Scott Nicholls gave big-scoring back-up to Masters.
