Well, here we are….. Season 2025….. On your marks….. Welcome to the…

Season 2023 is upon us….right here, right now!
And that means prediction time, right?
Well…. Here’s my prediction table for the finishing order, pre-play offs…….
1. Glasgow — on paper they have strength from top to toe .. I expect them to top the league going into the play offs but then the usual choke to occur!!!
2. Redcar — probably the best top 3 in the league IMO… These three alone could and should chip in at least 30 points per meeting… Certainly takes the pressure off the other 4!
3. Poole — home strength. Very solid.
4. Berwick – see below
5. Scunthorpe
6. Edinburgh
7. Oxford- another team gone top heavy and bottom light!
8. Plymouth — hmmm. Good top 3 but very weak at the bottom
9. Birmingham — 1 top heat-leader but sadly not much to offer as back up! Expect changes….
I’m likely to get asked why I’m again putting us as high as 4th…. well…
Here’s my view on things for what it’s worth!!
We’ve got 3 high-quality heat-leaders in TJ, RooBoy and Leon… Heat-leaders who are proven not only at Shielfield but on the road too…
Two second strings who can (and will) chip in heat-leader points on any nigh t– and 2 reserves who, although they have 2 point averages, come with an abundance of experience.
Take a look at others teams reserves…. Oxford going with two 2-pointers; young Ace starting at Glasgow, Jake Mulford at Redcar and a couple of very inexperienced reserves at Plymouth. When you slowly break things down, you do realise that it shouldn’t be as bleak as some make out!
Let them underestimate us though…. As I said in earlier blogs, this has to be the first season I ain’t jumping around saying we’ll do this and that …
Maybe that’s a good thing!!
This weekend sees us hit the ground running as we go head to head against the one team that has had our number over the last couple of seasons….
Yep, the ever-lucky Redcar Bears!
Last night should have seen the 1st leg of the KO Cup-tie at Redcar but their weather, or maybe their track surface again put paid to their plans, so it’ll be the 1st leg starts here at home tonight….
All being well with the weather – it’s a bit cold and grey, but tonight looks like it’ll be dry — we need to hit hard from the very first race (c’mon you Danes!)…
No pussyfooting… Give no inches… It can be done!
We need to be looking for an advantage to take down to Redcar tomorrow…. 8-10 points would be nice!!!
And thanks to yesterday’s rain off, I’ll be there to see it!! Yay!!!
Anyways…. Season 2023….. Here we goooooooo!!!!
