I’M BACK!

I did say I wouldn’t be long till I was back…. And well, I’m here!

Thank you all who’ve sent me get-wells, etc — and to Mr Barrie for the good wishes in his own blog last week…

The winter months have been… How to say it….. Not good!

I’ve not been at work since January thanks to the investigations I’ve been through in regards to my health…. We do now have some answers though, which means we can start pushing forward and my mind and body can recover!

Anyways, Press and Practice…. It left my chest buggered with how cold it was — but still — wasn’t it great to be back?

An air of optimism…….. Fresh faces…….. Sparkling race-suits…….. Yes, season 2024 is here!

We kick off this weekend against the old enemy (one club I personally can’t stand as I’m a very unforgiving cow with an awfully long memory….. ahem…. 2010… in Workington).

Led by captain Craig Cook, Troy Batchelor and our old friend, just recently signed, Claus Vissing.

They also come with 3 riders new to Championship racing in Tate Zischke, Antti Vuolas and, the first woman in a long time to race at 2nd tier speedway, Celina Liebmann. Hmmmmm.

Plus, Sam McGurk comes in at reserve, sticking with the Comets following their return last year.

If, and it’s a big if, both the Comets top two come in the right frame of mind, they could certainly rack up the points! But I’d like to think not, though…… The higher the score for the Bandits the better

Anyways…. Short and sweet…. I’ll simmer my resentment until after the weekend, then return with my hatred of that team — its some of their supporters, actually — on the West Coast.
