But Poole are one hell of a team and had a clear match winner in Sam Hagon… But the man who truly broke our hearts with his heat 15 dive under RooBoy is coming back to make amends. ..

Richard Lawson aims to be our saviour and slayer of Bears as we face the team with one of the best records at Shielfield Park in recent years…

Those very annoying Redcar Bears.

They’ve had a very un-Redcar like start to the season with several defeats at home, but turned that around in style as they knocked the much more fancied Workington Comets out of the KO Cup.

Should we overcome Scunthorpe (at least on aggregate) next Friday night then there is every chance we could be meeting Redcar at least one more time this year. The other two teams in the semi-finals are Poole and Oxford, and it would be sensible to apply geography to the draw, when (of if!) it is made.

Danny King will be missing from the Bears’ line-up this weekend due to injury and they bring in former Bandit (and Bear, and just about everywhere else) Ben Barker, who, IMO, will be a better scorer for them than Danny.

They also have one of the in-form men of the season in Dan Thompson who replaces Jonas K on Saturday. And again, I think they’ve struck lucky there too… (Thinks: Redcar? Lucky?)

But they are coming up against a bit of a wounded animal in our lot following last week’s defeat…

The whole team realises we need to bounce back… Rory’s interview with Mr B on the grass following heat 15 last week showed he was a dejected man…

You know what… That’s the sort of feeling I know I’ve missed… The feeling of witnessing a captain that truly cares!

In the more positive way to look at things though…. The league has only just started… We are still in the KO Cup… Our talented No 1 isn’t far away from returning to fitness…. The racing this year has already considerably improved (thanks Bastian)…… We’ve still got a lot to smile about at Berwick …

For those who can’t make Redcar tonight, there will be a live stream through their channel and of course Bandits TV will continue with their excellent coverage once again tomorrow night.
