PONDERING……

Howdy folks!

Are any of you like me?

You sit and ponder about things that can be completely out of your control…. things you wish you had the power to change but can’t….

I do a lot of pondering at night when I ain’t sleeping ‘cos the boys can keep me awake…. it could be big things or it could be little things….

This time, it’s how we’ve been here before!

About all the what-ifs…. We have a team on paper that could be a bit special…. a team that could take us to play-off territory!

But these last couple of weeks haven’t really been kind to us at all…. they say bad things come in threes…. Well, Leon injured, Ty injured and Saturday past seen us lose Jye!

All with unclear timeframes on how long they expect to be out!

On top of that we had Theo saying ‘hello again’ to the contents of his stomach before the meeting —- it’s a wonder how we only lost by 4 against Redcar!

The type of person I am though…. I can’t help but feel disappointed too! We are a club that damn well deserve some luck….

Hell, I feel certain that we’d be at least 6 points better off in the league standings had we not lost our three injured Bandits!

But we have, and we need to shake ourselves down and realise those around us chasing play-off spots are also dropping points!

Redcar losing at home to Poole, Birmingham winning at Oxford, Oxford returning the favour 24 hours later, Edinburgh losing against Leicester…. it goes on! We will be there or thereabouts but we can’t afford to drop many more home points. Thank the Lord we’ve got a bit of a rest period again…. time to regroup before Glasgow come, searching for points in a week’s time!

Anyways, on to this weekend and it’s back to the Bullets taking centre stage against the Kent Royals.

The last Bullets match, as those in attendance that night would know, gave us one of the most entertaining nights at Shielfield Park in many a year.

Kent, although running this year, sadly had to drop down a league after things went awry between Central Park stadium and previous promoter Len Silver, but thankfully they live to fight another day in the NDL at their new track at Iwade.

They line up with probably one of the strongest top two riders in this league in Ben Morley and Alfie Bowtell.

Both have the background of being smaller track riders but each has given previous Bandit teams something to worry about around Shielfield Park too!

For our Bullets, Mason and Ace move up this weekend into the top 5 of the team with Ben and Kieran moving down!

Quite how this affects us will be interesting to see. Something we can ponder upon until 7pm!

We still sit proudly top of the league, and have set the mark for others to raise themselves to!

Time to kick on and pull further away, Bullets…. Let’s go racing!!!
