Well, here we are….. Season 2025….. On your marks….. Welcome to the…

Emotions tend to fluctuate for me being a Bandits fan.
One minute they can be the riding so very, very high and the next they could be as low as the Titanic sitting at the bottom of the Atlantic.
Sometimes I let my feelings get the better of me and say some things maybe I should have kept quiet……. but quite frankly that ain’t me and I don’t do bottling things up very well….. hence why my feelings about the Birmingham home beating were like they were.
But I also do give praise where it’s due, and last Saturday’s home win against the Scorpions is one that can’t be frowned about.
Scunthorpe came with a decent line-up which contained plenty of Berwick knowledge and it did show in the case of Thomas Jorgensen and Theo Pijper — but how we repelled everything else beautifully.
As a team, our FTS Bandits were gating, there was passing, there was passion shown when races were won…… what a far far cry from only 7 days earlier!
I said it before and I will say it again…… if that’s the action on track we see then I could genuinely take home defeats if they happened.
But anyways, this weekend’s double header sees the visit of the one team I genuinely thought might turn us over at home in the Championship, even before the season began.
The top 5 of Leicester is one of the strongest in the league and all 6 of our boys in black and gold will need to be at their best to overcome the challenge the Lions will bring.
They come with the Thompson twins (Joe and Dan) at reserve who have each only seen our track once (in last season’s closed-door U21 meeting) – hence, Leon and Kyle need to make their experience count here against their opposite numbers!
The Bullets are also in action him and with the new averages kicking in Kieran and Mason have moved up and Ryan Mac and Ben have moved to reserve.
To be honest, I expect these four lads to change positions quite regularly as hopefully the benefit of some reserve rides can pull in some much needed confidence-boosting points for Ben and Ryan. I do believe we have enough in the tank to win at home……. the key to any NDL success will be points that can be picked up on the road.
I do like the fact that the team at the top of the NDL at the end are champions… no play-offs, just straight champions. Reminds me of the good old days…..
And just to wrap up this weeks blog…for those who aren’t aware, there are also live Bandits updates to be found on Twitter @LiveBandits.
These are impartial and straight to the point, appearing literally seconds after the race. Speedway updates then steal these tweets!
They may not appear this weekend due to the owner of the account not actually being anywhere near trackside for oncebut rest assured they will return next week.
Later, Banditos!
