Agreement has been reached to race the GHT Bullets’ outstanding National Development League fixture at Leicester on Saturday, 1 October, tapes-up 7pm. In the event of the meeting not being raced a second attempt to stage it will be made the following afternoon with a 4pm start.
Originally the fixtures were due to be completed by the cut-off date of 30 September but with the identity of the fourth and final play-off qualifier up in the air the decision was made to extend the season by a weekend.
Oxford’s thumping victory over Kent on Wednesday night ended the Royals’ qualification hopes and left the Chargers one point clear of Belle Vue.
As a result, the Colts need at least a point from their trip to Armadale on 30 September to ease past Oxford on superior race points.
Whoever wins between the Lion Cubs and Bullets at Beaumont Leys will finish the season top of the table which will book them a play-off spot against the fourth-placed team.
A four-point win for the Colts at Armadale could push them into third place in the table, pairing them against the runners-up. Mildenhall have already completed their fixtures and currently stand top of the table with 30 points.
New averages will come into operation for the final league match and play-offs with Ben Rathbone and Mason Watson swapping positions in the team.
Greg Blair and Kyle Bickley represent the Bullets in Sunday’s NDL Riders’ Championship at Scunthorpe on Sunday, start 3pm. The meeting will be streamed live by the host club tv.scunthorpe-speedway.com
