Dates for your diary

Diaries at the ready … March is shaping up to be a busy month as the countdown continues to the much-anticipated 2024 Cab Direct Championship season.

First up is the annual staff meeting which will be held in the Black and Gold Club at Shielfield on Sunday 10 March from 6pm.

Those who are already invaluable members of the Berwick Speedway family are invited to learn what’s new for 2024 and to sign up for the new campaign.

Likewise anyone looking to volunteer for one of the many vital tasks which keep the show on the road at Shielfield Park can call in and have a chat with the club’s management team. It doesn’t have to be every week, we’ll work around your availability.

Anyone unable to make it to the staff meeting but still keen to get involved can drop us an email on club@berwickspeedway.com

Then it’s back to the Black and Gold on Friday 22 March for the hugely popular meet the riders’ night which will begin at 7.30pm.

And just under 24 hours later – 6.30pm on Saturday 23 March to be precise – the bikes will roar and the new-look Bandits will take to the track for the traditional pre-season practise night as well as posing for press and other media pictures and film.

And the month rounds off with opening night, 30 March, when Craig Cook leads the returning Workington Comets into town in the first of the Border Trophy, the action, of course, starting at 7pm.
