Best of luck to the Bandits’ duo bidding for glory in tonight’s British Final at Belle Vue.
Captain Chris Harris is making his 20th appearance in the national final and bidding for a third title having won the famous trophy in 2007, on his way to British GP glory, 2009 and 2010 along with five further podium appearances.
He warmed up for tonight with victory in the British Masters Grasstrack in Kent on Sunday.
In contrast this will be Leon’s open age debut less than two weeks after he was crowned British Under-19 Champion at Redcar and comes in the middle of a fine run of form for Berwick, Wolverhampton in the Prmeiership and Vetlanda in Sweden.
He was a member of the Great Britain team which finished third in the Speedway of Nations 2 in Denmark on Friday.
The draw means that the Berwick team-mates meet in heat one at the National Speedway Stadium tonight.
It is the first time that Berwick have had two riders in the British Final since 1991 when Kelvin Tatum finished runner-up in a field which also included Richard Knight.
Grand Prix star Dan Bewley begins as hot favourite for the title on his former home track but the top non-GP qualified rider will be handed the wildcard spot in the British Grand Prix at Cardiff.
