Injuries have struck again as your FTS Bandits, powered by Keenwood Karpets, prepare for their Cab Direct Championship clash with Birmingham.
It’s been a tough week for our Danish duo. Jonas Knudsen damaged his wrist laying down his bike to avoid fallen team-mate Connor Coles last Saturday, an injury which had already ruled him out of the trip to Plymouth on Tuesday night. Jonas has not recovered and his place on Saturday will be taken by countryman Bastian Borke who scored an impressive 9+2 on his first visit to Shielfield with Edinburgh two weeks ago.
Having made a fruitless trip to England on Tuesday, our new signing Hans Andersen returned to ride for Fjelsted in his homeland on Wednesday but unfortunately he aggravated a shoulder injury and has had to pull out of the Brummie showdown.
Berwick team bosses had named him at number four on Saturday night, swapping places with skipper Leon Flint in an effort to maximise points at home, and as a result we will be running rider-replacement at four, Greg Blair being named as the Bandits’ additional rider (that’s number eight in old money). Everyone other than Rory Schlein is eligible to take Hans’ programmed rides.
Blair will also feature in the second half of the night’s entertainment, the GHT Bullets, powered by STS taking on Leicester Lion Cubs in the National Development League.
Lee Complin guests for dislocated shoulder victim Dan Thompson in the Cubs’ line-up.
With 30 heats to run an early start is required, the first heat scheduled to be at the tapes for 6.30pm.
E-tickets berwickspeedway.com/tickets or cash admission is £30 with accompanied under-16s admitted free.
