Jye: “All good mate”

One thing we’ve learned over the years about the FTS Bandits’, powered by Keenwood Karpets’, longest-serving member is … never rule him out.

Sunday afternoon saw early reports from Wolverhampton that Jye Etheridge had performed a spectacular first-bend pirouette and landed heavily on his shoulder.

All this on the first bend of his first competitive lap of 2023.

Pictures from the Monmore Green pits of Reggie with injured wing in a sling supported early reports of a dislocated left shoulder.

Which sparked feverish messageboard and social media activity with lists of possible replacements bandied about.

But having slept – or rather not – on it the man himself declared everything was “all good” on Monday morning.

Adding: “It did kinda come out but it feels okay today and I’ll be racing at Redcar on Friday night.”

Which was music to the ears of all Bandits fans.

No worries boys … Jye keeps the Bandits’ management up to date from the Monmore pits

But Jye has pulled out of Stevie Worrall’s testimonial at Poole on Wednesday night – where he was due to race for Belle Vue – to rest the shoulder before this weekend’s KO Cup showdown.

Tickets for Saturday night’s meeting at Shielfield will be available from berwickspeedway.com/tickets from 5.30pm tonight (Monday). Advance tickets cost £18, including booking fee, until midnight on Friday. Children under-16 can be added free of charge when booking.

After midnight on Friday tickets will cost £20 which is also the cost of cash admission at the turnstile. Accompanied children under-16 will be admitted free at the cash turnstiles.
