The forecast is for a warm, dry day – maybe even a bit of sunshine – in TD15 as the R.E.D Bandits, powered by STS prepare to welcome former Bandit David Howe and his Scunthorpe Scorpions tonight.
Having picked up our first aggregate point at Redcar last night, there’s another on the line from 7pm. But before we can even think about pulling back a ten-point deficit we need to overcome a Lincolnshire side which lost 42-48 at Edinburgh last night.
Steve Worrall had a rare off-night for Scunthorpe but Shielfield specialist Simon Lambert was in fine form with paid 15, Jake Allen weighing in with 13.
In the day’s other meetings Poole travel to Plymouth while Oxford are at Workington.
A reminder that there’ll be a collection in aid of injured skipper Danyon Hume at the turnstiles tonight and the main meeting will be followed by the classic speedway bikes of the Blast from the Past group who will race a four-heat Scotland v England test match.
Gates open at Shielfield Park at 6pm. E-tickets can be bought until 7pm while there are also cash-only turnstiles. Buy tickets
Another win for the Bandits’ Academy last night, Fraser Buckle unbeaten in the 125s while Mark Parker was beaten by Jack Shimelt in his first race but won the other two, Ella Marshall chipping in with 4+1.
The Academy has home and away fixtures with Workington Meteors left later this month to complete their NJL fixtures.
