A bright and breezy start to the day in TD15, a good forecast and the visit of Glasgow Tigers. Speedway is back with a bang in Berwick tonight!

49 days is a long time to wait for a home meeting but buckle up as, rather like London buses, they now come thick and fast with two cup finals up for grabs over the next month or so.

But first we need league points on the board as the former Bandits of Glasgow – Harris, Flint, Hagon, Hodder – and Shielfield specialist Kyle Howarth roll into town.

The Tigers have only the league to aim for and have drawn a blank away from Ashfield so far this season. Peter Kildemand returns after recovering from a broken collarbone, Jordan Jenkins makes his Berwick debut but all eyes will be on Nick Morris.

He’s had a pretty good few days, celebrating his 32nd birthday, fiancée Stevi accepting his marriage proposal and then teaming up with future brother-in-law Kye Thomson to save Edinburgh from a shock home defeat at the hands of Scunthorpe last night.

Nick scored 14+2 from his six rides at Armadale, was the only “home” rider to lower the colours of Josh Pickering and then created the space in heat 15 for Thomson to join him for the 3-3 which meant the meeting finished 45-all, Scunthorpe – next week’s visitors to Shielfield – continuing to pick up the points on their travels this season.

More of the same as the Tigers hit town on a night when the Berwick Academy and Ashfield Giants also do battle in the Northern Junior League.
