Matchday update

It’s a misty start to race day in TD15 but the birds are singing, the forecast is set fair, if cloudy, and the temperature forecast to hit the mid-teens – new-look Jewson Bandits tees and polo shirt weather for the locals but any Pirates fans on a  northern weekend might want to put on a sweater or two!

Poole launch our Cab Direct Championship campaign tonight (7pm)  on the back of a last-heat defeat but aggregate victory in the Knockout Cup at Edinburgh last night.

Tom Brennan continued his hot run of recent form while Dane Tobias Thomsen muted his critics while Leicester’s recently announced new  Rising Star, Sam Hagon, will be looking to impress new Premiership boss Stewart Dickson.

We know that the Cook brothers ride Shielfield well and, of course, they have Richard Lawson at number one.

A tough test for the former Pirates trio of Rory Schlein, Danyon Hume and Drew Kemp but they are bolstered by the return of Jye Etheridge from injury and Josh Pickering, guesting in place of the injured Lewis Kerr, who warmed up with three race wins over his arch-rival Lawson at Armadale last night.

One change is up in the box with Graeme Hunter replacing Barbara Horley.
