That warm feeling in TD15 isn’t just the afterglow from last night’s victory at Redcar. It’s been a warm, dry night and there’s even talk of temperatures reaching 20C this afternoon.

So thermal vests off, leave the heated gloves at home and slap on some sun block if you’re planning on joining those Jewson Bandits fans who revelled in the sun at the Ecco Arena last night – they’ll be easy to spot with suntanned pates and beaming smiles.

But, despite our 47-43 triumph – that’s back-to-back wins over the Bears after a 13 meeting drought – it’s only job part-done as team boss Stewart Dickson will be reminding the riders before tapes-up at Shielfield Park tonight (7pm).

“I’m delighted with the win at Redcar but it will be worthless if we don’t back it up tonight and make it a five point weekend,” our exacting leader said.

“Consistency is what will get us to the play-offs. So new day, clean slate, start again with total concentration on the job in hand.”

Richard Lawson guests for the Bandits in place of Lewi Kerr tonight while Ben Barker continues to deputise for injured Bear Danny King and Dan Thompson stands-in for Jonas Knudsen who is racing in Poland.

Tickets (£20, £18 concessions) are on sale until tapes-up tonight or there will be cash turnstiles open from 6pm. Buy tickets
