Dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s on tonight’s Cab Direct Championship clash between the Jewson Bandits, powered by Keenwood Karpets, and the Workington Comets at Shielfield Park (7pm).

It’s a warm and breezy afternoon in Tweedmouth where the riders are starting to gather. The Bandits use rider-replacement for Rory Schlein with Connor Coles guesting in place of Bastian Borke and former Bullets’ star Luke Crang named as our additional rider – a number eight in old money. Luke rode for Workington in last year’s National Development League and is part of the all-conquering Leicester Lion Cubs side which in on course to win this year’s third tier final. The Comets have Erik Riss and Simon Lambert guesting in place of Craig Cook and Tate Zischke.

Just a reminder that admission is by e-ticket (Buy here) or cash only. £20 (£18 concessions and students), accompanied under-16 free.

And another reminder that there will be a collection for the Great North Air Ambulance Service near the turnstiles. This is a vital service in a county where the nearest A&E is over 50 miles from Shielfield Park.
