Battered, bruised but nothing broken – that was the welcome medical update on Bullets’ reserve Kieran Douglas.
Duggy spent an uncomfortable Sunday evening being checked out in Leicester Royal Infirmary after he was the innocent victim of a freak heat two crash during the cup semi-final defeat against Leicester Lion Cubs.
He was taken out by the machine of Vinnie Foord after the Leicester man had run into Ben Rathbone and track medical staff were initially worried that the 23-year-old had suffered neck and back injuries and he was struggling to breathe.
But on Monday the Melrose-born racer was able to confirm that a CT Scan and other tests had confirmed there were no fracture in either the back or neck area.
“I have soft tissue and ligament damage to my ribs and chest, am still struggling to breathe normally and have very limited movement at the moment.”
He faces a spell on the sidelines and will miss the Bullets trip to Kent Kings on Sunday. Which is probably just as well as the crash has also hit him in the pocket.
“Unfortunately, my bike is bent and the Leicester medical team – who were great – had to cut my body armour and kevlars so they’ll need replacing when I’m fit again.”
