Please give a warm Shielfield Park welcome back to Ben Rathbone folks!
The naturally talented Teessider made a massive impact at Berwick in 2021, winning plenty of heats throughout the season and improving every time he took to the track.
Ben’s season came to an abrupt end after a massive accident at Mildenhall in his first heat race of the day.
Unfortunately Ben picked up a serious knee injury and as if that wasn’t bad enough he also lost most of a finger on his right hand!
Talent and bravery are essential qualities to be a Speedway rider and Rathbone clearly has both in abundance.
Gary Flint added:
🗣 “We are delighted to welcome Ben back to the Grant Henderson Tankers Bullets side for the upcoming season.
He is a very talented young man who comes from a fine Speedway family and although Ben is essentially returning from injury, I believe 2022 will be another season of big progress.
“Speedway riders really are gladiators of the modern day and Ben’s only concern after suffering such brutal injuries at Mildenhall was whether or not we could still win the league!
“Ben’s technical ability on the bike is very impressive which gives him such a distinctive style.
“When it all comes together he is capable of beating anyone in the National League and this potential is why we snapped him as a full club asset.”
Stay tuned folks……your 7th and final GHT Bullet will be revealed tomorrow evening!
Sponsorship and advertising packages for 2022 at Berwick Speedway will also be revealed next week.
All details regarding how you or your company can be associated with the Bandits, Bullets and the Academy for the upcoming and massively exciting season will be publicised on all of our social media platforms and our website 🏁
