Peter Kildemand is expecting a strong season – home and away – from the revamped R.E.D Bandits, powered by STS.

The two-time GP winner proved to be a popular and stylish signing in 2025 and was the first to put pen to paper on a 2026 signature. Talking to Greg Blair on Berwick speedway’s Total Access podcast the Dane admitted that returning was an easy decision.

“To be honest I didn’t have to think about it too much,” Peter admitted. “It worked well last season, I enjoyed working with Jamie Courtney and Jib (Jamie Robertson) as my mechanic.

“Shielfield Park is a special track and you need to be brave sometimes around there but I felt I came to terms with it over the season and had it sorted by the end.”

One area that Peter is hoping to improve in 2026 is attracting local sponsorship.

“Last year not everybody thought I would be staying all season so maybe this year I can get a bit of backing locally.

“I bought a new engine at the end of 2025 and am looking to invest again for this season so anyone who wants to help can either get in touch with me via social media – I’m on all the social media channels – or via the club.”

Peter, who will also ride in the British Premiership for Belle Vue in 2026 –will line up at number one for the new campaign with Nick Morris and Jack Smith returning from 2025, Jye Etheridge back after a season at Workington and three newcomers in Victor Palovaara, Lasse Fredriksen and Reid Battye completing the septet.

“We will need to pass on our track knowledge to the new guys but I think we have a team which not only looks strong but should also do well on away tracks.”

The full interview between Greg and Peter will be available on our YouTube, Instagram and Facebook channels from around 7pm this evening.
