Robin Morrison

Sad news to report that one of the Bandits family’s most recognisable faces,  Robin Morrison died on Monday, aged 87.

Robin has been around the club for almost as long as Berwick Speedway has been in existence as supporter, sponsor, rider confidante and a man whose garage and workshop has fine tuned and repaired many a speedway engine over the years.

And of course the club regularly called on his trade as a painter and decorator to make sure that the stadium was looking at its best as another season rolled around.

Along with wife Carol, Robin volunteered for many behind the scenes roles and even last season, despite not being in the best of health,  he was able to enjoy most of the Bandits home meetings, swapping his main stand seat for the warmth of the hospitality box.

The hearts of everyone at Berwick Speedway goes out to Robin’s family, which extends right down to his great-grandchildren.

His funeral will take place at St Peter’s Church in Scremerston next Friday, April 5, followed by the chance to help celebrate a life well lived in the Black and Gold.
