Bad news from Tweedmouth with an early decision to call off tomorrow’s eagerly awaited Cab Direct Championship fixture between the R.E.D Bandits, powered by STS and Scunthorpe Scorpions.
With multiple forecasts predicting almost constant rain over the next 30 hours on the east coast an early decision has been made and the clubs will now discuss a restaging date.
E-tickets will be refunded and the Golden Ticket winners will be rolled over to next weekend.
Disappointing news I know but the one thing your Bandits’ management cannot control is the weather. Redcar also called off tonight’s fixture against Poole due to similar forecasts.
And it is the Bears we will meet in the BSN Series semi-finals which were drawn this morning, Poole and Edinburgh featuring in the other two-legged knockout series.
A warm-up for the huge fixture against the trophy holders will be the next action at Shielfield Park in eight days’ time, the Bandits travelling to Scunthorpe next Friday for their next on-track action.
Again semi-final dates will be announced when agreement has been reached between the sides.
The postponement gives skipper Jye Etheridge an opportunity to recover from the wrist injury picked up riding for Sheffield against Ipswich last night.
Further tests will be needed to confirm the extent of the damage which forced Jye to withdraw from the meeting at Owlerton.
Finally, congratulations to Victor Palovaara and fiancée Jodie who added to their household this week with the birth of baby Oakley.
Congratulations from all at Berwick Speedway and we hope to welcome the youngster to the Borders soon.
