Berwick Speedway can confirm that Steve Boxall was one of four riders to be randomly chosen for drug and alcohol testing before Tuesday night’s Cab Direct Championship fixture at Plymouth.

He, along with a home rider, produced a non-negative test result and both were withdrawn from the meeting.

A statement released by the Speedway Control Bureau (scbgb.co.uk) confirms that both riders have had their SCB registrations suspended and that the samples will be sent to a laboratory for further analysis.

The club has no further comment to make at this moment.
