We’re pleased to confirm that our junior development team, the Bandits’ Academy, is returning to the track in 2025.
After taking a year break we will again be running a team in the hugely popular Northern Junior League.
The Academy will join West Lothian Wildcats, 2024 champions Workington Meteors, Ashfield Giants and Redcar Cubs in the league racing eight fixtures throughout the summer.
Teams can include one NDL rider with an average of 5.00 or less, one unattached 3.00 rider and two 125/150CC riders.
Colin Easton will again be the man in charge of the next generation of speedway stars.
Any 125/150 riders not already attached to a team can register their interest by emailing neil@scbgb.co.uk

◊ 2025 Bandit Danyon Hume is back in the Premiership after signing for Sheffield Tigers.
The all-action 28-year-old had a brief spell with the Tigers during their first season back in the top-flight in 2021 and will start at reserve alongside another rider familiar to Borders’ fans, Rising Star Leon Flint.
Jack Holder, Tai Woffinden, Josh Pickering, Chris Holder and Anders Rowe complete the Owlerton septet.
Since that stint in South Yorkshire, Danyon helped Ipswich to the 2023 Grand Final, where they were beaten by Sheffield, and is preparing for his second straight season with Berwick in the Championship.
Sheffield promoter Damien Bates said: “Danyon’s always a pleasure to deal with, he keeps everything straightforward. After not getting in a Premiership team this year, he’s knuckled down in the Championship and his attitude is spot on.”
