His partner in that heat, Connor Coles, line-up as reserve for the Monarchs tonight while Drew Kemp and Bastian Borke are both former Edinburgh riders.
On Saturday it’s the first Cab Direct Knockout Cup clash between the Bandits and Scunthorpe since 1976. Richard Lawson guest for Berwick with Howarth switching allegiance and leading the cup holders into action on a track where he pipped his current team manager David Howe to win the 2018 Bordernapolis.
Tickets for Saturday will be on sale up until the first heat. Until midnight tonight e-tickets cost £18 including booking fee and £20 on matchday. Cash admission is £20 (£18 concessions and students), accompanied under-16s are free. Buy tickets
